A/V Superhero
As I sit up here in my booth, indulging in my mild mannered alter ego, I like to take stock.
University President Emmert, Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, Senator Phil Rockefeller, State Representative Fred Jarrett, King County Executive Ron Sims, and NPR host Steve Sher are all sitting down on my stage, chatting and answering questions from a thousand person audience. Every seat is filled, they're being filmed and projected to another room in the building with another 300 people, and they're being watched by innumerable more on the webcast that we put together.
And none of them have any idea that there was a huge leak that caused the stage to warp in a few places. None of them know about the asbestos scare we had today. None of them know about the incompetence and lack of organization I had to overcome to make this thing work.
Through hours of constant, frantic work, I got everything wrapped up 30 seconds before they walked out on stage, and they're never going to know that I am a superhero.
